Trees were chosen primarily for their pest & scab resistance, nut quality & consistency, and sheer variety of cultivar phenotypes. While identification isn't trivial, I have potentially identified the larger "Mahan" and "Pawnee" cultivars among my harvest, all the way down to "Sioux" and "Moneymaker" on the smaller side (almost all trees were likely planted before 1970).
